Product Details

The Seiko Astron SSH158J1 100th Anniversary Limited Edition is an amazing watch that brings state of the art technology together with design and an incredibly high quality level. This watch stands as a beacon of reliability and style. Seamlessly merging advanced GPS functionality, solar-power and Seiko's timeless elegance. This is the ultimate companion for the modern adventurer and traveler.

To start the watch features Seiko's latest in-house Cal. 5X83 movement. This movements connects to GPS satellites, so it automatically adjust to the local time zone, ensuring you are always in sync with the world, regardless of your location. Powering this is done by the integrated solar cells, that can charge the watch up to 6 months with a full charge. Of course the movement has a plethora of features, such as a perpetual calendar until 2100, power reserve indicator, world time (39 timeszones), dual timezones, automatic hand alignment and a power save feature. And one of the nicest features of all, the 5X83 is the first Astron GPS Solar movements to feature a chronograph complication!

Putting all these features in a watch is one thing, but to make it look good and comfortable is another challenge and Seiko has definitely pulled it off, by combining to notch materials and great design. To begin, the watch is made from titanium, which ensures the watch isn't too heavy (124 grams with all links) and lends the typical titanium look to the watch. Additionally the bezel is made from scratch-resistant ceramic and the case and bracelet both are covered in a durable black coating with rose gold accents.

The case has a modest diameter of 43.4mm and 14.1mm thickness, which both ensure a very comfortable wearing experience, despite packaging so many features under the hood. The gorgeous dial is of course protected by sapphire glass, which has a truly Super-clear coating, that makes it seem like the glass isn't there and allows you a clear view of the wonderful depth of the dial.

This is a special limited edition and only 1200 pieces are produced and each model is individually numbered on the caseback.
